The EmBurn Story

Hello FitFam! My name is Emily Nalbach. I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a degree in Vocational Rehabilitation-Disability Sciences. I spent most of my life helping adults with disabilities find employment, get ready for life, and also help them get into better physical shape. When I was in college I thought my life path would be to become an Occupational Therapist for children. After finding out how much schooling I’d need, how much money it would cost, and how competitive the programs were, I decided to take a step back. I began working with adults with disabilities teaching them life skills and finding them employment that matched their passion.

After doing this for a while, life took a strange turn. My now husband got a traveling job and we began our “world tour”.We’ve lived all over the US, traveling every 6 months to a new state. During this time, I put my dreams on hold… until I learned about personal training. I had always been in sports, creating workout plans for friends and family members, and had a lot of schooling in anatomy, exercise science, and physiology. I decided to get my certification and give it a try. I got my first job for Anytime Fitness in Wisconsin as a personal training manager. (I know, first job… a manager…all I can say is that I’m very skilled at interviews!!) In my time in this job I built a training program from the ground up for 2 separate gyms. I loved my job and was very surprised at how good I was at it!

Fast forward to today. I am a personal training manager at a gym that I helped open!I have built my program from the ground up, yet again, but this time it went better than ever! I love helping people reach their goals. I love showing people that even though they have injuries, or they think they’re too old, THEY CAN DO IT! With the right program and some motivation and hard work, anything is possible!

A couple months ago I decided it was time for me to start opening up and sharing my fitness struggles and gym progress with the world. I began an Instagram account, @emburnfitness , and started sharing photos and workouts! I feared criticism and what people would say or think about my photos when I first started posting, but I was surprised by the amount of support I received!I had people asking me for workouts, loving my progress, and really following what I was doing!!  This website is the second step in me coming more into the fitness world as a personal trainer and coach. I hope to help as many people as I can and show them that ANYONE can transform their mind and body if they have the dedication, motivation, support, and a plan.
